Bachelor's Degree in Legal Science of Business and Public Administration:
The awarding of the Degree in Legal Sciences of Business and Public Administration requires a thesis prepared by the student with the guidance of a supervisor.
The Thesis and Degree Examination Regulations of the Course of Study define the terms and procedures for awarding the thesis and the criteria for identifying the supervisor.
The thesis must be discussed publicly at the session of a special committee composed of faculty members related to the Department.
Through the final examination, the student demonstrates the ability to argue, with technical terminology and use of legal concepts acquired in the three-year course, an original and reasoned thesis, as well as the ability to support it against possible objections.
The final graduation grade is the result of an algebraic sum derived from the weighted average of the student's results in the various profit examinations, calculated in hundredths, and a score between 0 and 5 directed to assess the completeness of the thesis and the quality of its discussion by the candidate.
For the 'increase beyond 3 points of the starting grade or for the awarding of honors, which must be unanimously decided, the appointment of a counterpupil is required. An additional point is awarded to students who have written a significant part of the thesis abroad and to those who are graduating in progress.
For admission to the final examination, it is necessary to have passed all the examinations stipulated in the study plan, to have earned 171 CFUs, and to be in good standing with tuition payments.
The Department Council establishes the schedule of graduation appeals, distributed for each of the sessions of the academic year.
A student who meets the requirements set forth in the Thesis and Examination Regulations of the course of study in which he or she is enrolled may request the assignment of the subject in which to write the paper for the final examination.
The assignment of the thesis is agreed upon between the student and the professor on the basis of an interview between the two. The subject chosen by the student must be among those already successfully taken by him/her.
The lecturer, after ascertaining through the thesis assignment database that the student has not already obtained any other assignment, agrees with the student on the title of the thesis, after which the same lecturer will fill out the appropriate form, from which the following data must be shown:
(a) first name last name and matriculation number of the undergraduate student;
(b) degree course;
(c) the chosen subject;
(d) the faculty member in charge of the subject who will act as the supervisor (together with the name of the subject supervisor, if any, who will actually follow the student until the final draft of the paper);
(e) the title of the thesis;
(f) the day of assignment of the thesis.
A student who decides to write the thesis in a subject other than the one already assigned must inform the thesis supervisor at the time requested, who must inform the Director and as well as the faculty member of the new assignment. The latter may proceed to fill out a new form only after ensuring that the lecturer of the original request has been informed of the thesis change.
Once the assignment of the thesis title has been obtained, the student must work on the paper in the manner agreed upon with the professor in charge of the thesis subject.
As the work nears completion, the student can proceed with the next steps to enter the final examination.
